Old Soul's Anthology: How You Define Your Own Success is What Matters
We all have different definitions of what success means, sometimes we absorb other people's definitions and allow them to define us, or we fail to recognize all we have accomplished because we haven’t yet met all of our goals or have yet to live up to our own high standards.
Success for me is not one destination, it’s something I obtain everyday when I choose to recognize how far I have come and how much I have grown. When I can look around me and be thankful and proud of where I am, what I have, and who I have come to be.
This doesn’t mean I am perfectly positive every waking moment, we all need reality checks from time to time, but when I choose to see past my expectations or other people's expectations, that’s when I can clearly see that I reach my definition of success every single day.
Throughout your journey you will have ups and downs, you will have days and years where you feel more successful than others. The best advice I can offer is to not let fixed points in time define your success. Be kind to yourself and be proud of all you have accomplished. Mold your definition around how far you have come, not just where you are going or where you want to be.
Have you grown?
Are you growing?
